Just a quick question for anyone, I'm trying to use my Yamaha Lowers that mount below the windshield with crash bars. I know they don't work with the BIG BARs. Does anyone know if there is a set out there they do work with? When lowers are on, you can't turn the bike sharp as the bars end up hitting the lowers. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

The Yamaha smaller engine guards work well with the Yamaha lowers. I have them on my '03 Midnight Star. Kuryakyn has highway pegs that will fit on the engine guards.

thanks pike, appreciate the reply. I have the lowers, just wanted to try and keep from putting them back on. There are some that work with the big bars at bucks lowers http://home.twmi.rr.com/bikepics/ they are a little bit different shape than the yamaha lowers and are supposed to work fine. i havent gotten them yet, watiting for my fairing to get here first. thanks again

I have Yamaha Lowers on my RS and have mounted a Lindby Bar. No problem with clearance on turns. Happy to send you a photo if you'd like... just email stonema@uvsc.edu and let me know.
;) Glad you asked this. 13v-star & I don't mind wind too much, but the updraft on the 13 is abundant. You'd think in this age Yam would've used a wind tunnel & already have lowers as optionional- if not standard equipment. I hadn't thought about the bars in conflict. I will now.........;) ;)

I have "Bucks" lowers that work with my Big Bar and I have no probem ... When I park and turn my front to lock it, the Bucks touch the Big Bars but it is slight ...there is no problem at all when riding. Hope ths helps

I looked at the factory engine bars on my 2007 v star 1300 tourer and It looks like they won't hit the lowers. Judging by the forward curve at the bottom of the windshield It appears the wind shield was wind tunnel tested to assure max vacum behind the windshield so the air comes up right in your face. This assures the customer will gladly shuck out the bucks to correct the problem with Yamaha's lowers when available. I wouldn't suspect such a devious M.O. if not for seeing simular tricks on other motorcycles and machines.
