Thanks Joe, I thought it was just me! I swear, the smarter cars get, the dumber the ass behind the wheel gets :mad: The worst part? This stuff will end up mandated sooner or later, next thing you know, an idiot-proof econobox will cost $50k.

I can't stand this crap. People are loosing sight that they need to know how to F'in drive. IDIOTS! Things like abs and airbags are all great. BUt park assist, self stopping cars, blind spot detection are options to take away from driver skill. I can see it soon. 16 yr old driver, no longer is required to check blind spots because "the car does"! BS!!!

It's already happening Gasman
Last winter while returning home form work on a snowy day, I was rear-eanded by a teenager in a Corolla. I stopped at a redlight and then felt a little bump from my rear. Not much, no damage to the Jeep, and a little dent in his front from my ball hitch. We pulled to the side and moment later a cop happend upon the scene. (who says there's never a cop when you need one)

Anyway, the cop takes a quick report of the accident; not much damage, no injuries, so no tickets issued. He makes the kid call his parents, and while on the phone we over hear him asking, "I thought this car had ABS..." After that, the cop sent me on my way and began to give the kid a little lecture in safe driving
