I realy miss the center stands that most bikes used to come with stock from the factory. They were helpful to stand the bike up right when doing maintenance, changing tires, lubing chains, etc. Now we have to live only with the sidestand and whatever we have to jury rig to keep the bike safely upright. Oh well, more ranking by the old dude......

As my current bike is my first(of many hopefully) it only has a side stand. I can see where a center stand would be helpful in many ways, like cleaning wheels & tires. Hey Buzz all those bikes listed after your name, is that like some profesionals who have all those letters after theirs, LOL:D
thats for sure!! the only thing I miss as much is a kicker!!
just after writing that, I flashed back to a spectacular highside when it dug into the ground on my Honda mid-turn, breaking the shell on my Bell (one with the auto retracting visor) as I hit the a tree 25 feet away and punching my ticket for a helicopter ride out of the mangroves.

cute. so you think buzz owns all those bikes or is it more like his trophy wall of bikes ridden over the years?

I also miss the center stand. I know that lots of people probably never used them, but once you learned the "trick" to getting the bike up on one it is actually easy to use. As a kid (teenager) I could put dad's Goldwing up on it although it wasn't as easy as my CB550four.

I can personally vouche for his Ducati, Suzuki and a few others of domestic origin.
.........and yes, I sorely miss center stands too.

I always used my center stand on the CBX 6 cylinder, as the side stand would penetrate asphalt in a moment if I didn't have my aluminum disc with.
Now with the VTX1800, It could be risky to toss up a 800+ lb machine, or hide that structure of a stand access on the left side.

Not so much as risky, but given the weight I'm sure many an owner has wished for a kicker when the battery dies. That's gotta be a fun bike to push start...

I kind of miss the center stand, but I don't think it would look right on my bike. I'm getting a bike jack for myself this year, so that will probably help this issue.
I don't know that I "could" kick start an 1800cc motor....

All three of my bikes have had center stands. I don't think that I would know what to do with out one:confused: Good thing I don't change bikes very often. but there are a few that I'm thinking about changing to. guess I'll have to get by with out one.:(

The Honda CB900F "919" has an optional center stand available for about $90. Great bike if you like standards.

I have an old 1978 Yamaha XS750 Special that has a center-Stand, kic-start
Tachometer, aluminum wheels. The old in-line 3 cylinder 747 CC,DOHC, will give any twin cylinder today a "run-for-it's" money. :)

I know it has been a few months since anyone has posted here, but Center Stands are available for you bike if you would link one. I have a buddy who bought one for his Roadstar, he got it at: http://www.moto-xpress.com/EZ-UP-Center-Stand-pr-1621.html

I was talking with a good bud the other day who told me he bought a new Honda and that the center stand was an option. Being a long time rider and good mechanic he ordered the centerstand and was told it was back ordered by the factory.
That was more than 6 months ago and he still doesn't have it. What's the deal?

My KZ900 had a center stand (for awhile). Parking on a brand new parking lot, in the hot summer sun, the paving gave way letting the bike settle on the tires. Then it closed back in around the center stand feet. Now that was a fun one to get out of....
