Tool Tips: Compression Tester

It may be overkill, but this compression test gauge kit from MAC Tools should cover just about anything you’d ever want to check cylinder compression on. The gauge has a glass lens, chrome bezel, and side-mounted quick-release valve. Designed for use on domestic or foreign car, truck, motorcycle, marine, and small engines, it reads 0-300 psi and has a metric scale, too.

The gauge comes with four different hoses with the most popular sizes, 14mm and 18mm, built in. It also includes four extra metal adapters, sized 18mm, 14mm, 12mm, and 10mm. While it costs a bit more than your garden variety (cheap) gauge, it’ll likely be the last compression test gauge you’ll ever need to buy. RB
