Tool Tips: Race Driver

It’s going to take some brute force to get the new bearing races into place, there’s no doubt about that. But even Cro-Magnon man can do it with finesse, with the help of the Bearing Race and Seal Driver from Lisle Corporation. It has a variety of cones and an arbor that allows you to drive the race in straight. The driver sends a uniform application of force from the hammer’s blow to the lip of the bearing race. It also allows you to hold the race straight and parallel to the steering head, and keeps your fingers out of harm’s way. There are plenty of sizes of cones available, so you’re bound to find one for just about every application. Lisle also states that by turning the cone over, this tool can be used as a seal driver as well.
