Default Share Your Winter Motorcycle Projects With Forum Members

OK, so it's too cold for many of us to ride, so what motorcycle projects do you have for the winter? Assuming you have a not too freezing place to work on your motorcycle.

Just installed a couple of lights over the work area in my almost heated but overcrowded garage.

Over the winter I am hoping to better dial in my old BMW R100RS that I bought this summer in Texas and rode back to Connecticut as followed in RoadBike a few months back.

I am also working on some of my classic motorcycles including a 1955 Moto Guzzi 250cc Airone I hope to compete with in this year's Moto Giro.

Well my winter list was quite long. Some up grades and a lot of mainenance.

I own a 2006 Kaw 900LT with about 34K on the ODO.

I replaced the steering stem bearings. New battery. New rear tire. New clutch and throttle cables. Added heated grips. Added electronic cruise control. Changed all the brake fluid. New plugs and oil. Added a trunk. A lot of cleaning and polishing. New decals to add to the militrary theme of the bike.

@ pat0021: PICS PLEASE

Not much planned for the Vic this winter.

Installing braided steel cables, replacing the tank badges with lettering, and powder coating a few small bits, nothing too drastic or difficult.

Well the cruise control I got the idea from a fellow forum member that lives in Aussie land. Haven't tried it yet. Next month!!

Here is a pic of the unit.

The mount on the handle bars. You can also see the controls for the heated grips.

Just a pic of my baby!

The trunk mount i made. Waiting on the trunk to come back from the painter. You can also see my battery tender plugged in and sitting on it. LOL
