Cool times in Hot Springs

On my way home from a tour of Arkansas. Spent a few days riding north from Texarkana, to Mount Magazine, Mount Nebo, and Petit Jean state park. Then I headed south on The Scenic 7 to my ultimate destination; Hot Springs. What a great little town! No wonder Al Capone hung out there.
Hot Springs has all the modern conveniences of the chain restaurants and big hotel brands, but the best places to stay are in the older part of town, within walking distance to Bath House Row. Nuthin better after a long day’s ride then a dip in the thermal waters. Many of the natural springs are capped to prevent contamination, but there are several steaming fountains on display in the old part of town.
If you go, ask for the Al Capone suite at The Arlington, a short walk to the bath houses and spas. Gamblers will want to check out Oaklawn Race Track, one of the finest privately owned horse racing facilities in America.
I shot over 600 pictures, brought two cameras, watch for the Tour story soon.
Left Hot Springs this morning in 40 degree weather, but temps were predicted to be in the 80’s by this weekend. Figures.

  1. I love riding in this area and my son lives in Bryant Ark. and I use his house as home base and make different day routes. This country is beautiful and some much to see and all the curvy roads one wants. I just turn up the motorcycle sound system and enjoy the view. I also want to mention Arkansas as a whole has great riding roads and accommodations for bikers.
