As you may have heard, I was involved in an accident back in October. More on that later — maybe, anyway. The more I tell mine, the more I realize that everyone’s got a crash story — and if they don’t now, they soon will. Either way, I’m laid up on disability still, for a couple more weeks, anyway.
Meanwhile, while perusing the ol’ RoadBike web site this morning — something I haven’t been able to do with much efficiency until recently b/c of a broken right arm — I noticed that someone had commented on my Bonus Extras post regarding my review of the Honda Stateline bike back in our October (has it been that long??) issue.
Now, I’ve caught a bit of guff regarding that review, and so has RoadBike; needless to say, Honda was less than enthusiastic about the article’s tone! But it ran regardless. See, after much editing, debate, and thorough discussion, it was decided that RoadBike had never kowtowed to advertisers, potential, past or current, and we weren’t going to start now; our integrity is our most valued asset, and the one thing we can guarantee our readers is our honesty.
Unfortunately, with my absence from the home office the full review of the Stateline as it appeared in print hasn’t yet been posted here on the RB web site (although i’m sure that’s just an oversight, wink wink). Still, here is the link to that Bonus Extra post, the comment by reader Chris Simon, and my reply. http://www.roadbikemag.com/home/2010/10/bonus-extras-2010-honda-stateline/
I’m healing rapidly — I can now type with both hands at least! — so it wont be long till I’m fully back in the saddle, literally and employed-ly, and carrying the torch for truth & justice in moto-journalism, hehe.
Happy Holidays to all!!
