Triumph Motorcycles America LTD is recalling 2010 Thunderbird and Thunderbird ABS motorcycles that were manufactured from September 2009 and August 2010. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the motorcycles may have an incompatible thread locker/screw combination at the front fender mounting. The screws may loosen and contact the side wall of the front tire, which can cause tire deflation. The potential number of units affected is 1,955.
The report states that dealers will install new screws free of charge. Owners can contact Triumph’s customer service department by calling 678/539-8782.
