I had this thought that I wanted to share… it comes from my first (and only) accident, and how I could’ve avoided it had I known better.
You already know how invisible we motorcyclists are to car drivers. But have you ever thought about this? If you are following a car at night, your bike’s little headlight becomes one with the car’s light in front of you. I learned this lesson the hard way when an oncoming car turned right in front of me, after the car I was following too closely passed him. Be smart. Give yourself more than enough space between you and the car you’re following to create a separation of lights to oncoming traffic.
