Due in US dealerships by January, the Trophy is driven by the same powerful, three-cylinder engine developed for the new Tiger Explorer. The shaft driven, 1215cc triple delivers a hearty 132bhp at 8,900 rpm, and 89 ft.-lbs. of torque at 6,450 rpm. The engine features a counter-rotating balancer shaft and a torsional damping system that transfers power to the meta-lastic shaft. Ride-by-wire technology provides both torque and cruise functionality that optimizes engine efficiency and, therefore, fuel economy. Combine that with a 6.6-gallon fuel tank, and that’s a long time between fill-ups.
Aerodynamically enhanced fairings provide weather and wind protection with an electrically adjustable screen that raises nearly 6.5” and features a preset memory function. Rider and passenger comfort is enhanced with a range of seat options, including heated front and rear seats, and the rider seat height that can be adjusted between 30.3” and 31.1”.
The Trophy and the Trophy SE both feature Pacific Blue or Lunar Silver paint, headlight positional adjustment, centerstand, lockable cockpit storage box with 12v power socket, and Triumph’s Dynamic Luggage System, standard. In addition to 31 liters per pannier, more storage capacity is available with the optional 55 liter top box with “Plug and Play” functionality, which allows easy fitment and removal without cables or wires.
The loaded SE also features adjustable electronic suspension, with settings for Sport, Normal, and Comfort suspension, as well as Solo, Solo plus luggage, and 2-up load settings. The SE also benefits from Triumph’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a 12V passenger power supply, and an integrated audio system with Bluetooth, USB input, and iPod/MP3 player compatibility.
